Israel-Lebanon relations

Mitvim Institute carried out a policy workshop on Israel-Lebanon realtions. the discussion focused on bi-lateral challenges and opportunities,which are influenced by the need to prevent another war between Israel and Hezbollah; Border issues, eastern Mediterranean natural gas resources,the civil war in Syria, the Arab Peace Initiative and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. Among the speakers were MK Ksenia Svetlova (the Zioninst Union), Prof. Asher Kaufman (Notre Dame Universitay,USA) and Mr. Walid Salem of the (Palestinian) Cnenter for Democracy and Community Development .

Challenges to Democracy and Social Cohesion: Perspectives Among Partners
Round 2 of the Israeli-American-German trialogue of the Mitvim Institue, the Middle East Institute, and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, with parcticipation of members of parliament, diplomats and analysts. The Palestinians in Israel and Foreign Policy

Israeli-Palestinian Policy Dialogue on the Renewed Peace Process
Following the renewal of the Israeli-Palestinian process, Mitvim has carried out a policy dialogue meeting with members of the Palestinian Committee for Interaction with the Israeli Society. ·         Mitvim and the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) carried out a policy planning workshop in Washington DC focused on leveraging the role of incentives in Pursuit of Israeli-Palestinian peace (March). 

·         In collaboration with the International Crisis Group (ICG), Mitvim organized a policy planning workshop to discuss next-steps towards resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in the immediate aftermath of Israeli elections and new government formation (May).

·         With the renewed escalation of violence (October-December), Mitvim and the USIP held another policy planning roundtable to discuss The way forward in Israeli-Palestinian Relations, trying to identify immediate and long-term measures for de-escalation and for resolving the conflict in the region (October).

After Turkey's second round of elections, Mitvim organized in November an off-the-record briefing in Tel Aviv by Namik Tan, Turkey’s former Ambassador to Israel and the USA, to discuss Israel-Turkey relations in the changing regional context.
