What is the role of civic foreign policy thinking in shaping regional security?
This question, among others, was explored at the conference Geopolitics of the Mediterranean in a Changing International Order, recently attended by Mitvim’s Director-General, Dr. Gil Murciano.
The conference, held in Rome, brought together a diverse group of diplomats, researchers, and senior officials from the Arab world, Europe, and the Vatican — including Saudi Prince Turki Al-Faisal and former Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
Murciano participated in a panel alongside the Vatican’s Foreign Minister, Archbishop Paul Gallagher. He spoke about the unique role of civic foreign policy thinking — particularly the work of policy institutes like Mitvim — in shaping the security architecture of the Mediterranean region, especially during times of war and civil crises.
