On Global News Today on Al Arabiya English, Melinda Nucifora examines the latest security threat facing Saudi Arabia after the Kingdom’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones launched from Iraqi territory and targeting oil facilities in the Eastern Province and the Riyadh region.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense says the drones were launched by Iran-backed militias operating from Iraq. Riyadh condemned the attacks, reaffirmed its right to defend itself and warned that it reserves the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing.
The Kingdom also called on the Iraqi government to prevent its territory from being used as a launchpad for attacks against Saudi Arabia.
