
Dr. Nathan Marom
Policy Fellow
Dr. Nathan Marom is an expert on urbanism and sustainability in their interrelated dimensions. His research interests include urban planning and policy, political conflicts in urban spaces, urban climate action, sustainability and resilience, and the urban infrastructural “nexus”. His research focuses on Israeli and Palestinian urban regions as well as comparative urban research between world regions (especially India and South Africa).
Between 2015–2022, he was an assistant professor at Reichmann University’s School of Sustainability. In 2023–2024, he was a research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Paris and he currently lectures at Sciences Po Paris.
He is writing a monograph on the political ecology of the Tel Aviv metropolitan region and the impact of its urban metabolic processes (materials, food, water, energy) on social and political inequality in the Israeli-Palestinian region.
