Dr. Nimrod Goren is the President and Founder of Mitvim – The Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies and a Co-Founder and Executive Board Member at Diplomeds – The Council for Mediterranean Diplomacy.

He holds a Ph.D. in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Psychology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was a Hubert Humphrey Fellow (Fulbright program) at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Nimrod is a past recipient of the Victor J. Goldberg Prize for Peace in the Middle East and the Centennial Medal of the Institute of International Education.

He serves as Key Expert at an EU project providing foreign policy expertise to the European Parliament, is a Fellow at the International Dialogue Initiative, a member of President Isaac Herzog’s Israel Climate Forum, and is on the steering committees of the Geneva Initiative and the Turkish-Israeli Civil Society Forum; and a Board Member at the Center for Enterprising Citizens.

Nimrod is an expert on unofficial diplomacy, has designed and led multiple track-two channels related to Israel and its neighbors, is a frequent commentator on Israeli and regional affairs for international media outlets, and the author and editor of numerous publications on Israeli foreign policy and domestic politics, Israel-Arab relations, the Middle East peace process, Mediterranean diplomacy, and Turkey’s foreign policy.

Formerly, he was a Senior Fellow for Israeli Affairs at the Middle East Institute, a Teaching Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Rothberg International School, a Faculty Affiliate at Syracuse University’s Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC), and the Executive Director of the Young Israeli Forum for Cooperation.
