all posts by Kamal HassanKamal Hassan is a Board Member at Mitvim Institute, a lecturer at the Open University, and a Ph.D. candidate in Middle Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv Univeristy. His areas of expertise are: Islam, Democracy and Civil Society; think tanks, and Arab society in Israel. Mr. Hassan hold a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Ben Gurion University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Haifa. In 2010, he was selected by the U.S. Embassy in Israel to participate in the Civic Education and Leadership in the Middle East Fellows Program at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. Mr. Hassan also teaches History and Citizenship Education in high schools, served as a Board Member of the organization “Peace Children,” Arab sector representative in the organization “Peace Generation,” President of the Students’ Union for Higher Education in Tamra, and Vice-President of The Western Galilee College’s Students’ Union.
