Arie M. Kacowicz is a Professor of International Relations and the Chaim Weizmann Chair in International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. A Faculty member at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 1993, he was the chair of the Department of International Relations in 2005-2008 and was the President of the Israeli Association of International Studies in 201-2021. His areas of research include peace research in international relations, peace processes in the Middle East, globalization and the international society. Prof. Kacowicz is the author and editor of ten books, mostly about peace. Since October 7 2023, he attempts to contribute from his knowledge, within Mitvim and in his academic research, thinking about the need for a political process and peace in the aftermath of war.
